Marlow Regatta was today informed by David Tanner that, regretably, the GBR Lwt 4- will not be able to race at the 2011 Marlow Regatta do to an injury to stroke R. Chambers. The crew had already brought in 1 substitute and now needs to re-group and recover in time for the World Cup regatta in Lucerne in July.
Marlow Regatta competitor information is now available here. All competitors, coxes and coaches are advised to read and understand the instructions.
MARLOW REGATTA - THIS WEEKEND
This weekend Dorney Lake will play host to the 156th Marlow Regatta and the 11th to be held at Dorney Lake, the venue for the canoeing and rowing events at next year’s 2012 Olympic Games.
Confirmed entries at this years’ regatta have been received from the United States, Norway, Ireland and from across the United Kingdom. Some of these entries, will undoubtedly be hoping that Marlow may provide them with the opportunity to pre- qualify for Henley Royal Regatta. The regatta are also delighted to welcome the GB Men’s Lightweight Four who, following the GB rowing team’s decision not to attend the world cup in Hamburg, due to the e-coli outbreak, will be competing in our Open Fours event on Saturday.
The action on the water sets to be as exciting as always and the Regatta Committee have, for the first time, incorporated events for Masters and increased the number of events available for women.
